TROY, Ala. - Friday night's volleyball match with the University of South Alabama has taken on a new meaning as the Lady Jags and Troy University will participate in Dig For A Cure, finding a way to cure breast cancer.
Below is a listing of events that are taking place all week leading up to the event on Friday night inside Sartain Hall:
All proceeds will go to the Side-Out Foundation, which has partnered with the Sun Belt Conference to help raise awareness for breast cancer. Each Sun Belt Institution is trying to raise money for the cause, with the winner being announced at the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Tournament.
The Department of Athletics and the volleyball program are selling t-shirts in the Trojan Center for $10 from 10 am until 2 pm Wednesday thru Friday. They are also selling tickets for $1 at a chance to win a pink volleyball signed by the team. All money will be donated!
Also on Friday night, the department of athletics will be selling pink wristbands for $2 at the game on Friday night that will read “Troy Trojans Pink They Can”. The teams will be wearing pink to warm up in before the match, and the first 100 people to come to the game will receive a coupon for a free Burger King Whopper.
We ask that everyone wear pink and please help make this a successful event!
