TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team finished its portion of the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championship on Sunday. The Trojans now break until their spring season begins in January.
Troy's Karoline Grymel fell in the quarterfinals of the singles main draw on Sunday, losing to Julie Jones of Ole Miss, the tournament's fifth seed, 6-3, 6-4. Grymel had won three matches in two days to earn a spot in the quarterfinal.
In the finals of the B singles draw on Sunday, Troy's Rosaura Ramirez-Vega fell to Vivian Vlaar of Ole Miss, 6-2, 6-0.
Ramirez-Vega was also in action in doubles play with partner Candela Munoz Giron as the duo fell in the semifinals of the A doubles consolation draw. The Troy pair fell to a team from LSU, 8-4.
