Doubles Victory Highlights Day Two for Trojans

ATHENS, Ga. – The Troy women's tennis team continued play at the Georgia Invitational on Saturday, with a doubles victory over No.6 Georgia highlighting the day.
Troy's duo of Karoline Grymel and Lyubov Dorofeeva started the day by beating Georgia's first doubles pair, Lauren Herring and Mia King in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (5).
Herring is ranked 15th in the nation in doubles with her usual partner, Kate Fuller.
“I thought the Troy doubles teams came out and played phenomenal against us in the morning,” Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace said.
Fuller played at second doubles with Silvia Garcia against Troy's Hannah Toro and Anja Cosovic, with the Trojans nearly pulling that upset as well. Toro and Cosovic lost in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (5).
Although the tournament doesn't feature duel matches, it does feature a schedule that matches teams together for individual play.
Not only did Troy take on No.6 Georgia in doubles on Saturday, the Trojans also battled No.67 Kansas State in both doubles and singles.
In singles play against the Wildcats, Olivia Brooke Durden and Candela Munoz Giron each came away with victory. Durden won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, over Gema Boaldo-Yusta. Munoz Giron won in three sets over Ana Gomez Aleman, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
