TROY, Ala. – Troy University quarterback Corey Robinson has been nominated for the AT&T All-America Player of the Week following a record-setting performance in Troy's 34-31 victory over UAB this past Saturday; he set one NCAA record, three Sun Belt Conference records and two Troy records.
Â
Robinson, a senior from Paducah, Ky., completed 30-of-32 passes for 319 yards and a touchdown against the Blazers. His 93.8 completion percentage set an NCAA FBS record for a quarterback with at least 30 completions; current Washington head coach and former BYU quarterback Steve Sarkisian set the record in 1995 when he was 31 of 34 against Fresno State.
Â
Robinson opened the game with a 52-yard strike to fellow quarterback Deon Anthony; following an incompletion on his next attempt Robinson completed his next 20 pass attempts. The 20 straight completions tied Sim Byrd (1968 vs. West Alabama) for the most consecutive completions in Troy history.
Â
His 93.8 completion percentage shattered Troy's single-game completion percentage record, which was held by Levi Brown, who completed 80 percent of his passes against North Texas in 2008.
Â
Robinson also broke the Sun Belt single-game record for completion percentage previously held by New Mexico State's Buck Pierce, who completed 12-of-13 passes at Middle Tennessee in 2003.
Â
Robinson's name is also on the top line in the Sun Belt record book for career passing yards and completions following Saturday's game.Â
