TROY, Ala. – Former Trojan Tom Jervis has been named the National Basketball League (Australia) Rookie of the Year, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Jervis, who played for the Trojans from 2007-09, averaged 5.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game during his rookie campaign with the Perth Wildcats, while playing 17.0 minutes per contest.
The Wildcats finished with a 21-7 overall record during the 2013-14 regular season, winning the regular season title. The Wildcats won their semifinal series against the Wollongong Hawks and will take on the Adelaide 36ers in the Grand Final Series beginning on Monday, April 7.
After a solid first season coming off the bench in Troy, Jervis developed into a consistent starter in his second year, averaging 6.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
Teammate Damian Martin took home defensive player of the year honors for the fourth consecutive season.
