Troy Women’s Tennis Opens Season in Florida

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team opens its spring season this weekend with road matches at UCF and Stetson on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both matches begin at 11 a.m. CT.
Troy returns two from last year's team in sophomores Sanae Ohta and Jiayuan Xue while adding in five newcomers. Luisa Ferrauti led the Trojans with an 8-4 singles record in the fall, while Ohta posted a 7-7 record.
Troy went 10-9 last season, including winning its last three regular season matches. Xue led Troy individually last spring with a 12-4 singles record.
UCF and Stetson will also both be playing their season openers. UCF went 13-7 last season while Stetson went 15-5 and lost in the A-Sun semifinals.
After their opening weekend matches, the Trojans will return to Florida to face old Sun Belt foes FIU and Florida Atlantic next weekend.
