No. 64 Troy Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 2 Oklahoma

NORMAN, Oklahoma – The No. 64 Troy men's tennis team dropped its final match at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, falling to host No. 2 Oklahoma, 4-0, at the Gregg Wadley Indoor Pavilion. Oklahoma moves on to defend its title at the National Team Indoor Championships.
Troy (1-4) lost at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively, as Oklahoma (2-0) took the opening point. The Sooners, last year's NCAA Tournament Runner-Up, then got straight set wins in singles at No. 4, No. 1 and No. 6, respectively.
Giovani Samaha was up, 6-4, 4-2, in his match at No. 3 singles against No. 92 Alex Ghilea when the match was clinched. Pablo Moreno and Andy Lau had both lost their first set, but were playing well in second sets when the match was over.
The Trojans played their fifth straight match against a ranked team to start the season, and will play another next Sunday when they travel to face No. 31 Florida State. Before that, Troy will travel to take on unranked Miami (Fla.) on Saturday.
