Men’s Golf Closes Out Fall at East Bay Classic

TROY, Alabama – The No. 64 Troy men's golf team heads to Kiawah Island, S.C., and the Turtle Point Golf Course for the East Bay Classic in the Trojans' final tournament of the fall. Teams will play single rounds on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Led by Sun Belt Golfer of the Week Clayton Vannoy, the Trojans are coming off a third place finish at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic two weeks ago where they shot a combined 17-under par.
Vannoy enters the East Bay Classic ranked 32nd nationally after carding six of his nine rounds under par to start the season. The senior from Pensacola, Fla., leads the Sun Belt with a 70.78 stroke average and -1.22 score vs. par on the year.
Troy's No. 64 ranking is also the best in the Sun Belt and 27 spots ahead of South Alabama, which is second in the league at No. 91.
Head coach Matt Terry will once again send out an experienced lineup as seniors Jared Bettcher (72.78), Cam Norman (73.00) and Luke Moser (73.44) will join sophomore Calum Masters (74.67) and Vannoy. Redshirt-freshman Sam Prater (76.67) will compete as an individual for the Trojans for the second straight week.
Troy will be paired with College of Charleston, Jacksonville State and Maryland in the opening round with the foursomes going off on holes one thru three at 9 a.m. (CDT) in the shotgun start.
