Troy Wins Three of Five Draws at UNCC Fall Invitational

Charlotte, N.C. – The final day of the UNCC Fall Invitational saw the Trojans leave in style as Troy won three of five singles draws.
Amer Bedwan, Filip Mansson and Mustapha Beclora were the champions of their respective brackets.
Bedwan, a freshman, capped off his third collegiate tournament with a 6-2, 6-4 over the third-seeded Kyle Barr of Wofford for the first draw victory of his career.
Filip Mansson had a closer call, as the sophomore narrowly defeated Trey Morris of Appalachian State in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5 to take home his first draw victory of the season.
Mustapha Belcora clinched the other draw for Troy with a victory in three sets over his teammate, Pablo Moreno. Moreno won the first set 5-7, but Belcora responded with a 6-0 victory in the second and a 6-3 clinch in the tiebreaker round.
NOTEWORTHY
• After the four victories in this tournament, Bedwan improved his record to 8-4 in fall play.
• All three winners for Troy won the first draw of their seasons.
• Shaaz Peerani fell in the consolation finals of his draw. The freshman lost 6-1, 6-2 to Matthew Rose of Davidson.
