Troy To Face Eastern Illinois Again On Monday

CHARLESTON, Illinois – The Troy men's basketball team will finish the home-and-home matchup against Eastern Illinois with a game at noon on Monday at Lantz Arena.
The Trojans previously saw the Panthers last Monday, Nov. 14, in Trojan Arena. Troy pulled out a 70-67 win after forward Jordon Varnado hit the go-ahead jumper with 3.4 seconds left.
That win put the Trojans at 2-0 before an 74-51 loss on the road at UAB on Thursday dropped the team's record to 2-1 for the second consecutive season.
Varnado has been a force for Troy this year with 15.7 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game and a team-high eight blocks on the year. The Trojans have three other players who are averaging double-digit points this year. Wesley Person has 11.7 points per game and Juan Davis, Jr. and Kevin Baker have 10.0 points per game.
Eastern Illinois started the season at 1-0 with a win over St. Francis (Ill.) before the Troy game started a two-game losing streak. The Panthers rebounded with a 73-64 home win over Western Illinois on Saturday to bring their record back up to 2-2.
