TROY, Alabama – After being on the road for four straight games, Troy will return back to Trojan Arena for a matchup against USF at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com and Troy Sports Radio Network will have the call beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The Trojans (3-3) dropped the first three road games at UAB, Eastern Illinois and San Francisco but rallied for a crucial win at Hawai'i on the final game of the trip, 65-63.
While the win over the Rainbow Warriors was the first away win of the season, Troy and Eastern Illinois were tied in the final 15 seconds at the end of the home-and-home series before two Panthers free throws proved to be the decider in the 71-67 loss.
Troy also trailed by just seven with 3:52 to go against San Francisco before the Dons went on a 9-5 run to close out the game, 79-67.
As they did last season, Jordon Varnado and Wesley Person have led the way for the Trojans this season. Varnado has a team-high 14.3 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game while Person is right behind him with 13.8 points per game.
On the other side, USF has alternated between wins and losses to go 3-2 to this point. The Bulls have wins over Florida A&M, Rider and, most recently, Kennesaw state. The two losses were a home loss against Elon and a loss on the road to FAU.
