Team Fuller Sweeps Team Haley in Fall World Series

TROY, Alabama – The Troy baseball team concluded fall practice and wrapped up its Fall World Series on Friday at Riddle-Pace Field, as Team Fuller completed the sweep of Team Haley.
GAME 1 – TEAM FULLER 12, TEAM HALEY 5
Team Fuller ousted Team Haley in a 12-5 game one showdown on Thursday night. Team Fuller took off on a four run first inning and scored nine straight before Team Haley got on the board.
Team Fuller was lead by Joey Denison, who had a 2-for-3 performance with three RBIs and a home run. Denison also took home MVP honors for the position players going 8-11 in the series with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs. Chase Smartt also went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs with a double on the night. Brody Binder led Team Haley with a 3-for-3 performance and two doubles. Trevor Davis and Brandon Lockridge each hit a triple, the two also combined for three RBIs.
Daren Osby picked up the win pitching four innings. He only allowed four hits and picked up six strikeouts. On the mound for Team Haley, Austin Crook picked up six strikeouts through three innings of work.
GAME 2 – TEAM FULLER 10, TEAM HALEY 3
Newcomer Mack Hathcock went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs scored in the second game. Team Fuller took an early 2-0 lead, but a string of base hits gave Team Haley a 3-2 lead in the next inning. Brody Binder continued his strong hitting as he went 2-for-3 in the game. Steven Whitaker plated two of the three runs for Team Haley.
Chase Smartt and Justin Friend helped Team Fuller retake the lead as Smartt went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Friend delivered a two-run shot in his only hit of the game. Team Fuller scored eight unanswered and went on to win, 10-3.
Cory Gill recorded the win, as he pitched four innings and struck out four.
GAME 3 – TEAM FULLER 13, TEAM HALEY 2
Drew Frederic and Evan Hebert highlighted the 13-2 win for Team Fuller. Frederic drove in six of Team Fuller's 13 runs in the game with a 3-for-4 performance including a home run. On the mound, Hebert struck out two and only allowed one hit through four innings in a winning effort. Hebert's pitching performance earned him pitching MVP.
Joey Denison plated two with a 3-for-4 performance, including two doubles. TJ Binder drove in two runs with a double, his lone hit in the game. Rigsby Mosley went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a team-high three runs.
Trevor Davis and Brandon Lockridge each picked up an RBI for Team Haley.
