Hamilton Accepts Position at Mississippi State

TROY, Alabama – Troy University soccer head coach Jason Hamilton has been named associate head coach at Mississippi State, it was announced on Tuesday.

Mississippi State head coach Tom Anagnost, whose hiring was announced on Dec. 14, welcomes Hamilton to his staff for the second time. Hamilton served under Anagnost at Miami (Fla.) in 2012, where they led the Hurricanes to an NCAA Tournament berth.

"I want to thank Dr. (Jack) Hawkins, Jeremy McClain, and Sandy Atkins for the opportunity they gave me at Troy," Hamilton said. "Without their support, none of the program's success over the past few years would have happened. Troy is an amazing university that will always have a special place in my heart, and I will miss all of those people who have supported me while I was here."

Under Hamilton, Troy's soccer program enjoyed unprecedented success accumulating a 37-20-5 record in his three seasons and advanced to the Sun Belt Conference championship game for the first time ever in 2014.

Troy will begin a national search immediately to find Hamilton's replacement.
