Troy Accepts Invitation to Dollar General Bowl

TROY, Alabama – Troy will make its sixth FBS bowl appearance when the Trojans play in the Dollar General Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on December 23 the school and bowl announced Sunday afternoon.
Troy will matchup with a familiar bowl opponent as Ohio (8-5) from the Mid-American Conference will also be making the trip to Mobile. The Trojans defeated the Bobcats 48-21 in the 2010 New Orleans Bowl.
The Dollar General Bowl is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Ladd-Peebles Stadium and the game will be televised on ESPN.
Troy enters bowl season 9-3 and became the first team in Sun Belt Conference history to appear in either the Associated Press or Amway Coaches Poll. The Trojans went 6-2 in Sun Belt Conference play and finished third in the league after going 4-8 and 3-5 last season; Troy's five-win turnaround is tied for the fifth best nationally.
Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets to the Dollar General Bowl through the Troy ticket office as it helps financially as well as increases Troy's attractiveness to future bowl games. Additionally, all tickets purchased through the university will be in the Troy section in Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
The Troy Athletics Ticket Office will have two separate tickets options available for for the Dollar General Bowl:
• $45 sideline tickets, located between the 10-yard lines
• $15 student tickets (must show student ID and purchase in person; tickets can be picked up when purchased)

Troy's designated hotel will be the Renaissance Riverview Plaza on South Water Street. The hotel has limited rooms remaining for fans and those wishing to stay are encouraged to call 251-438-4000 to book their rooms.
