Seth Calloway Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

TROY, Alabama – Troy defensive end Seth Calloway has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

Calloway, a senior from Ariton, Ala., is one of just four defensive linemen on the District Four team which includes FBS and FCS teams from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Calloway, who is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, is in graduate school after receiving his undergraduate degree in criminal justice last spring.

A leader both on and off the field, Calloway has helped transform Troy's defense into one of the best in the nation. Heading into next Friday's home finale against Texas State, Calloway has five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks for a defense that is one of just three in the country to have not allowed more than 24 points in a game this season.

Calloway was nominated for the Wuerffel Trophy this past offseason for his service to the community and his work on the field and in the classroom. Calloway is active with Troy for Troops, Christian Love Center, Boys and Girls Club and Relay for Life.
