Troy Returns To Trojan Arena To Face Delaware State

TROY, Ala. – Troy has played five of six games to start the regular season away from home, but that will change as the Trojans return to Trojan Arena for the start of a three-game home stand against Delaware State on Monday.

The Hornets come to town for the third game of the Adolph Rupp Classic with the Trojans still in contention to win the tournament. Delaware State is 2-4 so far this season and most recently won 68-55 at home against Georgian Court.

On the day before Thanksgiving, Troy earned a key road win against East Tennessee State behind 22 points from Wesley Person and 21 points from Jordon Varnado. Person ended the game with 17-straight points and five 3-pointers in a little more than three minutes.

The win against the Buccaneers came after ETSU went 13-2 at home the year before en route to making the NCAA Tournament. It also came after Troy had faced No. 8 Kentucky two days before and had been on the road for 12 of the previous 15 days.

Troy's three-games at home will provide an opportunity to earn a 6-3 record before heading out to face Southern Miss, Arkansas and Austin Peay to close out the road portion of the non-conference schedule.

• Troy has held three opponents to a stretch of zero points in five minutes or more: Hawai'I, Kentucky and East Tennessee State.

• B.J. Miller has arguably been Troy's best reserve as he is averaging a career-high 6.5 points per game, 24.0 minutes per game, 2.7 assists per game and a 58.6 shooting percentage from the field.

• The Trojans will host UIC on Wednesday to close out the Adolph Rupp Classic before hosting UAB on Dec. 5.
