Troy Softball Announces 2018 Schedule

TROY, Alabama- The Troy University softball team and head coach Beth Mullins announced its 2018 spring schedule on Tuesday, which features two home tournaments, four home conference series, and two home SEC matchups.

"I am very excited about the schedule we have put together this year," said Mullins. "Our first four tournaments will really challenge us and prepare us for how competitive Sun Belt Conference play is."

Troy will start its 2018 campaign at the Troy Softball Complex on Feb. 9-11, as it hosts the Troy University Tournament welcoming Tennessee State, Valparaiso, SIUE and Alabama State. The Trojans will host another tournament during the third weekend of the season Feb. 23-25, featuring matchups against Murray State, UAB, and Tennessee State.

The Trojans will travel to two tournaments during the season. Troy will play in the Arizona Tournament Feb. 16-18, and will face Montana, host team Arizona, Bryant and Colorado State. They will wrap-up tournament play at the D9 Citrus Classic in Orlando March 2-4, and will take on FIU, UCSB, Fordham, Niagara and Binghamton.

Troy's non-conference schedule features two home games against SEC powerhouses Auburn on Feb. 14 and Mississippi State on April 25. The Trojans will also host FSU on March 21 and FAMU on April 4. Troy will travel to face Samford, Southern Miss and UAB to close out non-conference play.

Sun Belt Conference competition will begin on home turf for the Trojans against Georgia Southern on March 10- 11. UL Lafayette, Coastal Carolina and Texas State will also make the trip to Troy. A split series against in-state rival South Alabama will begin with one game at home on April 18, before wrapping up the regular season with a double header against the Jags in Mobile, Ala.

Troy will travel to face conference opponents ULM, Georgia State, Appalachian State, and UTA, before wrapping up the season at the Sun Belt Tournament hosted by UL Lafayette May 9-12.
