Softball Set for Doubleheader at FAMU

TROY, Alabama- The Trojans are looking to improve on their 9-6 record as they travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to face the Florida A&M Rattlers in a mid-week doubleheader on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 3 and 5 p.m. CT.
The Trojans are coming off two home tournaments where they went 5-0 and 1-4. In the first tournament, Troy defeated Jacksonville, Longwood and Samford to move to 8-2 on the season, but last weekend they fell to Lipscomb and Southeastern Louisiana. However, the Trojans were able to knock off No. 19 Pittsburgh in extra innings as Becca Hartley hit a walk-off two run homer to give Troy a 7-5 win.
Sophomore left fielder Stephanie Snyder has come out strong this season as she has posted a .362 average through fifteen games with 17 hits and a team-high five doubles. Catcher Kaylee Hussey and Hartley are also having great at-bats as they have recorded .357 and .354 averages, respectively. Hartley leads the team in runs (17) and RBIs (16).
Claire Graves, Rachel Rigney Brown and Peyton Glover all got time in the circle this weekend for Troy. Brown leads the squad with a 5-3 record and has a 3.00 ERA through 44.1 innings of work with 18 strikeouts. Graves is not far behind with a 3.37 ERA, 45.2 innings pitched, and 14 strikeouts.
The Rattlers (1-14-1) are coming off of a loss against Arkansas at the FAU Invitational. The Trojans are 46-13 all-time against Florida A&M. The last meeting was in 2016 at the Troy Softball Complex as the Trojans defeated the Rattlers 11-2. Taylor Rosier leads the Rattlers with a .350 average with seven hits in 20 at-bats.
