TROY, Alabama – The final two regular season games of the year will begin with a matchup against Arkansas State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. There will be a live radio call by Doug Amos on TroyTrojans.com and a live video feed on ESPN3.com by Ali Forbes and Jerry Miller.
Â
The Trojans (16-14, 8-8) are coming off a tough weekend in Texas as Troy fell 63-59 on Saturday to Texas State and 82-67 to UT Arlington. The losses snapped a four-game winning streak Troy had going into the weekend.
Â
It was a dominant February for Jordon Varnado, who led Troy in scoring in five of the past six games. He posted two double-doubles, set two Troy Division I records and had a career-high 31 points against UL Lafayette in the month.
Â
This will be the second meeting between the Trojans and Red Wolves (20-9, 11-5) after Arkansas State narrowly won the first game 82-80 at home on Jan. 21. Arkansas State sits at second in the conference but has lost three of the past five.
Â
Significant implications will be on the line for the Sun Belt tournament. Troy clinches the seven seed with a win and a Texas State win over UL Lafayette. The Trojans will be the eight seed with either a win or a win by Little Rock over South Alabama.
