Selection Show Party Set for Trojan Arena

TROY, Alabama – Troy Athletics will host a selection show viewing party on Monday for Troy women's basketball, the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Tournament champions, beginning at 5:15 p.m. at Trojan Arena.
Fans are encouraged to join the Trojans as they watch ESPN's NCAA Women's Selection Special, where the NCAA Tournament field of 64 teams will be announced, beginning at 6 p.m.
The men's basketball team, which also won the Sun Belt Tournament on Sunday, will be recognized during the event. No. 15 Troy plays second-seeded Duke at 6:20 p.m. Friday in Greenville, S.C.; the game will be televised live on TBS.
Troy won the the Sun Belt Tournament championship game on Sunday defeating UL Lafayette, 78-64, at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans to claim its second consecutive Sun Belt title. The Trojans will be making their third-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Under fifth-year head coach Chanda Rigby, Troy (22-10) has won 20 games in three straight seasons for the first time in program history. The team is eighth in the NCAA in scoring averaging 82.9 points per game and are led by Sun Belt Tournament MVP Caitlyn Ramirez, who averages 13.2 points per game.
