Trojans Continue Road Swing at Mississippi State

TROY, Alabama- Troy (11-11) will continue play on the road as it travels to Starkville, Miss., to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs in its second SEC match up in a row on Tuesday, March 7 at 6 p.m. at Nusz Park.

The Trojans are coming off a weekend tournament hosted by LSU in Baton Rouge, La., where they went 1-4. Troy faced tough power five matchups and two ranked opponents in No. 10 Minnesota, Illinois twice, and No. 13 LSU. Troy earned their lone win on the weekend against Illinois State.

Troy is 0-7 all-time against Mississippi State. Their last meeting was in 2013 as the Bulldogs defeated the Trojans 5-2 in Starkville, Miss. The Bulldogs are 18-3 on the season and are coming off five straight wins after hosting the Bulldog Slamboree.

Troy is third in the Sun Belt in hits with 157 and third in doubles with 32. Eight different Trojans have hit multiple doubles so far this season, led by Stephanie Snyder with six.

- Head coach Beth Mullins has special ties with Mississippi State as she was an assistant coach of the Bulldogs from 2012-2014.
- Mississippi State will be the second game in a row that Troy has faced an SEC team since it faced Alabama and Auburn back-to-back in 2004.
- Becca Hartley leads the team with a .324 average at the plate, she has 22 hits on the year and has posted a team-high 16 RBIs.
