TROY, Alabama – Troy's expanded collaboration with ESPN3 transfers to the diamond as 12 of Troy's remaining home baseball games will be available via an HD stream on ESPN's live multi-screen sports network.
The expanded relationship between Troy and ESPN3 began in the fall with the broadcast of Troy volleyball matches and continued through the winter with the Sun Belt Conference champion Troy men's and women's basketball teams. Additionally, Troy will produce ESPN3 streams for all games in the Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament, which will take place at the Troy Softball Complex in May.
"I am excited about the commitment our University and Athletics Department has made to provide access to ESPN," Troy head coach Mark Smartt said. "Our program will receive great benefits from the expanded platform."
The first ESPN3 baseball broadcast will take place Tuesday night when Troy hosts Alabama at Riddle-Pace Field; first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. and tickets are available at TroyTrojans.com/tickets.
All three games of the Sun Belt series with Georgia Southern, Texas State and Appalachian State will be available via ESPN3 as will mid-week games against UAB and Jacksonville State.
ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and streaming devices through WatchESPN. The network is available nationwide at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.
The network is also available at no cost to U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
