Troy Leads Following Day One of Sun Belt Championship

MIRAMAR BEACH, Florida – Troy holds a one-shot lead over Georgia State midway through the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Raven Golf Course. Teams were pulled off the course Sunday night due to darkness after weather halted play for over three hours during the first round.
Troy is currently 4-under overall after shooting even par during the opening round and 4-under so far in the second round. Calum Masters is tied for second place at 5-under after carding a 3-under 68 in the first round and is 2-under through his first nine holes in the second round.
Live scoring shows Troy at 3-under, however a score reported for Jared Bettcher is incorrect as he birdied the par-3 No. 6.
The Trojans lead the field at 3-under on the par 3s and at 8-under on the par 5s. Bettcher is tied for the lead playing the par 3s to the tune of 3-under, while Masters is close behind at 2-under and is tied for third at 3-under on the par 5s.
Bettcher is tied for seventh place overall at even par after shooting 2-over in the first round and is 2-under through nine holes in the second round. Vannoy is tied for 11th place at 1-over, Cam Norman is tied for 19th at 3-over and Luke Moser is tied for 29th at 4-over.
Teams will complete round two Monday morning beginning at 7:30 a.m. and will then play round three. The top four teams following the completion of the third round will advance to match play on Tuesday.
