39 Troy Student-Athletes Received Degrees on Friday
TROY, Alabama – Troy University held its 2017 Spring Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 12, at Trojan Arena where 39 student-athletes earned their diploma.
The 39 student-athletes represented more than 950 students from 29 states and 13 nations who participated in the ceremony. Troy's 39 student-athletes represented 14 different sports. This was the largest class of graduating student-athletes since spring of 2013 where 40 athletes received diplomas.
Air Force Lt. Gen. Steven L. Kwast, commander and president of Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base, provided the keynote address. In his role at Air University, Kwast leads the intellectual and leadership center of the Air Force, graduating more than 50,000 resident and 120,000 non-resident officers, enlisted and civilian personnel each year. He is also responsible for officer commissioning through the Officer Training School and the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
