TROY, Alabama – Troy baseball will begin an eight-game home stand with a mid-week tilt against long-time rival Jacksonville State Wednesday night at Riddle-Pace Field; the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 with first pitch set for 6 p.m.

The Trojans (24-19) enters the matchup having won six of their last eight games, including victories over No. 5 Auburn and defending national champion Coastal Carolina.

Cory Gill and Andrew Crane continued dominating opposing batters last week – Gill fanned 12 batters in six innings of work and Crane extended his consecutive scoreless inning streak to 24.2 with six shutout frames against Coastal. Gill's efforts earned him Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week honors.

Trevor Davis was named Sun Belt Hitter of the Week after swinging a white-hot bat in Troy's four games last week – batting at a .529 clip (9-for-17) with six RBIs, a home run and three runs scored.

Troy-native Houston Mabray (2-2, 4.35) will answer the bell on the mound for head coach Mark Smartt and the Trojans.

In their meeting two weeks ago, Troy defeated Jacksonville State, 10-5, after scoring eight runs in the first three innings of the matchup.

The Gamecocks (22-19) enter the rematch having won three of their last four, including an 11-8 victory over Alabama last Tuesday in Tuscaloosa.
