TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's basketball program picked up Louisiana Tech transfer Jasmine LeBlanc, head coach Chanda Rigby announced on Monday.
Â
The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 11.9 points and 8.0 rebounds for the Lady Techsters last season guiding the team to the WNIT – the program's first postseason appearance since 2010-11. LeBlanc led the team in rebounding in 19 games and scoring in seven contests; including a season-best 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds against Old Dominion.
Â
"Jasmine is without a doubt one of the best athletes we've signed since I've been at Troy," Rigby said. "With her on the floor, we will be able to expand our system even more."
Â
A Breaux Bridge, La., native, LeBlanc saw action in 26 games as a freshman for Louisiana Tech in 2015-16 averaging 5.0 points and 4.2 rebounds. She registered double-digit scoring in four games and led the team in rebounding three times. As a three-year standout at Breaux Bridge High School, LeBlanc averaged 21.2 points and 7.4 rebounds during her career and led her team to three consecutive state playoff appearances after the school qualified for the tournament just once since the mid-1990s.
Â
LeBlanc will be required to sit out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules and will be eligible for the 2018-19 campaign as a redshirt junior.
