20 Student-Athletes Received Degrees on Friday

TROY, Alabama- Troy University held its 2017 Summer Commencement ceremony on Friday, July 28, at Trojan Arena. Over 470 students participated in the ceremony including 20 student-athletes that walked across the stage to receive their diploma.
The 20 student-athletes represented nine different sports. Basketball players DeVon Walker and Caitlyn Ramirez both graduated with master's degrees in criminal justice.
U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, will provide the keynote address, and receive Troy University's Distinguished Leadership Award. Johnson, in his fourth term representing Ohio's 6th district, is a summa cum laude graduate of Troy in 1979 with a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems. First elected to Congress in 2010, Johnson serves on the House Energy & Commerce Committee and on the House Budget Committee.
