The kickoff of the 2017 football season is approaching quickly, so here's a look at the last break down of the 12 opponents that the Trojans will face this year. Troy will play host to conference foes South Alabama, Georgia Southern, Idaho and Texas State.

SOUTH ALABAMA – Oct. 11
The conference home slate will begin with the "Battle for the Belt" as Troy will welcome in-state rival South Alabama to the Vet. Last season, students and fans swarmed Mobile to watch their Trojans take back "The Belt" from the Jaguars – the Trojans lead the all-time series 3-2 (1-1 at home).

The Trojans will host Georgia Southern for homecoming to close out the month of October – it will mark the 17^th time that the two schools have met (Troy leads 10-6). In the 2016 regular season finale, the Eagles pulled off the upset and ended hopes of bringing a Sun Belt Championship back home to Troy.

After their loss to Troy, the Vandals won seven of their final eight games, including a 61-50 win over Colorado State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl to conclude their season.
