Troy Barely Misses Out On First Win

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Troy men's tennis narrowly missed out on getting the first win of the spring season after falling to Elon 4-3 in a neutral site matchup on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, Fla.
Jiaqi Duan and Pelayo Antuna fell just 4-3 in their doubles match while Troy lost the other two sets 6-2, 6-0 to drop the doubles point. That proved to be the decisive point of the match.
The Trojans (3-3) had the best singles outing of the year as Andy Lau earned a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 victory in the one spot. Antuna also eked out a tough win as he went three sets to earn a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win.
Rounding out the victors was a dominant match from Oskar Michalek as he on 6-1, 6-2. Jiaqi Duan had a chance to seal the win, but he came up just short after falling 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
