TROY, Ala. – After winning four of the past five matches, Troy will return home this weekend for just the second time this dual season with matches against UNC-Wilmington on Friday at 1 p.m. and rival South Alabama on Saturday at noon.
The Trojans (5-6) dropped the opener of the HEB College Classic 4-0 to TAMU – Corpus Christi on March 2, but quickly turned things around with a 4-1 win against University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a 4-0 win over DePaul to close out the tournament.
That momentum carried over to a solo match on Sunday where Troy stayed in Texas and pulled out a 4-2 win over conference opponent UT Arlington. South Alabama (7-5) will be the final Sun Belt foe the Trojans will see until the conference tournament.
Three Troy players are currently tied for the team lead with eight wins in singles play. Pelayo Antuna, Andy Lau and Mustapha Belcora have all reached the mark with Lau on a three-match winning streak.
That trio has also led the way in doubles play highlighted by a perfect 5-0 record when Lau teams up with Amer Bedwan. Lau has the team lead with seven doubles wins followed by Belcora and Bedwan with six.
